SENATORS, SHANE PINTO AGREE TO TWO-YEAR CONTRACT

The Ottawa Senators have re-signed restricted free agent Shane Pinto to a two-year deal worth $7.5 million, the club announced Tuesday.

The contract will pay Pinto $2.5 million in 2024-25 and $5 million in 2025-26.

Pinto was coming off a one-year deal worth $775,000 that the Senators signed him to back in January. The 23-year-old centre missed the first half of the 2023-24 season after he received a 41-game suspension for violating the NHL’s gambling policies.

Over the 41 games that he did appear in, Pinto recorded nine goals and 18 assists for a total of 27 points.

Selected by the Senators in the second round (32nd overall) of the 2019 NHL Draft, Pinto has appeared in 140 games and recorded 70 points (30 goals and 40 assists) across his career.
