REPORT: RAPTORS ADD C BRANDEN CARLSON AS AN UNDRAFTED FREE AGENT

Toronto’s work wasn’t done on Thursday after they submitted their final pick of the day at the NBA Draft.

Following the annual procession, the Raptors signed centre Branden Carlson from Utah to a two-way contract, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported.

Carlson, a 25-year-old, is one of the oldest players signed or drafted this year.

Standing at seven feet tall and 215 lbs, Carlson made his money in college as a stretch-five, developing an impressive 3-point shot that hit at a 37.9 per cent rate in his fifth year in Utah. He shot 4.7 3-pointers per game.

Overall, he averaged 17.0 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in his final year while helping the Utes to a 22-15 record, good for sixth in the Pac-12.

He played all five of his collegiate years with the Utah Utes and was named to the All-Pac-12 team three times in his career. He left Utah’s program as the school leader in games played and blocks.
